Sebring Raceway at Sea 2024 to Feature More Sebring Champions
Dec. 9-13 Celebrity Cruise to Include Sebring Champions and Personalities
Several of IMSA‘s most popular and fun-loving drivers will join Sebring fans on the 2024 Sebring Raceway at Sea cruise hosted by Celebrity Cruises.
The second Sebring Raceway at Sea cruise, Dec. 9-13 aboard Celebrity Silhouette, will feature more drivers and IMSA personalities than the inaugural Sebring Raceway at Sea trip in 2022. Among the champion drivers expected include:
- Jordan Taylor — 2024 GTP Champion
- Louis Delétraz — 2024 GTP Champion
- Jack Hawksworth — 2024 GTD Pro Champion
- Ben Barnicoat — 2024 GTD Pro Champion
- Kyle Kirkwood — 2024 GTD Pro Champion
- Ricky Taylor — 2017 DPi Champion
Additional drivers and guests known to race fans everywhere have been invited and will be announced when they are able to confirm.
After departing Fort Lauderdale on Monday, Dec. 9, Sebring Raceway at Sea guests will enjoy their second day at sea and activities with drivers or enjoying everything Celebrity Cruises has to offer on their own. The ship will stop in Key West on the third day where almost certainly a trip down Duval Street will be on the agenda as well a stop at a bar (or five). The fourth day will feature a stop in Nassau, Bahamas, where excursions including diving or snorkeling on coral reefs and brilliant blue Caribbean waters, a trip to Atlantis or a simply exploring the capital of the Bahamas await.
Everything Included prices start at $799 per person. Sebring Raceway at Sea guests will enjoy benefits including cocktail parties and selected events with drivers and personalities, Celebrity‘s Classic Drinks Package (beer, wine, spirits), WiFi access and gratuities are included. The drink, WiFi and gratuity packages would be more than $550 per person purchased separately.
Brothers Ricky and Jordan Taylor, as well as 2022 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring winner Neel Jani, joined fans on the 2022 trip, and all three, as well as their families, enjoyed themselves as much as the guests.
“It was a great mix of spending time with new friends that have been enjoying races at Sebring for decades, and spending time on our own relaxing in the luxury of a magnificent ship,” Jordan Taylor said. “I never could have imagined how spectacular the experience could have been, but Celebrity really goes above and beyond.”
“After a long season, it was great to go on the Sebring Raceway at Sea trip just to relax and unwind,” Ricky Taylor said. “Sports car racing is a small, intimate community but race weekends can be hectic, so getting to spend time and get to know some passionate race fans and share stories with one another was a special opportunity we normally don‘t get to do.”
Jani added: “The Sebring Raceway at Sea trip was such a cool way to get to know the Sebring Raceway staff and competitors like the Taylor brothers in a very relaxed atmosphere. As tough as the Sebring racetrack is, the cruise was the exact opposite. Hanging out with some of Sebring‘s most passionate fans was a highlight of the trip and gave us a great opportunity to share stories and to get to know one another.”
The number of cabins available at introductory low prices are limited, so guests are encouraged to book early before prices increases. Only guests booking directly through Cruise & Tour Supermarket and purchasing the Sebring Raceway at Sea package will be able to participate in activities with the Sebring champions and personalities. 2024 Sebring Raceway at Sea Celebrity Cruises Driver Profiles
Jordan Taylor
Jordan Taylor rejoined the family business for 2024 with a team owned by his father, Wayne, in IMSA WeatherTech Championship competition. It didn‘t take long for him to return to the top of the podium. In just the second race for the No. 40 Konica Minolta Acura, Taylor, Louis Delétraz and Colton Herta won the 72nd Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in spectacular fashion as Delétraz passed veteran Sebastien Bourdais with just minutes remaining to capture one of the sport‘s biggest prizes. Taylor is known for his larger-than-life fun personality, while also having a reserved style. He was voted IMSA‘s most popular driver, and on his first Sebring at Sea trip, along with his older brother, Ricky, spent generous time with guests during sunset cocktail parties as well as elegant dinners.
Louis Delétraz
After limited starts in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, versatile Swiss driver Louis Delétraz won his first overall IMSA race in the most recent Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. He has partnered with Jordan Taylor and Wayne Taylor Racing full time in 2024 after filling the role as the team‘s endurance race driver in 2023. In 2022 and 2023 he also drove an LMP2 entry for Tower Motorsports. His European starts are much more plentiful in series including the FIA World Endurance Championship, the European Le Mans series and other sports car series around the world. He has driven in the 24 Hours of Le Mans four times, once in Rebellion Racing‘s LMP1 car and on three other occasions in an LMP2 entry.
Jack Hawksworth
Jack Hawksworth was behind the wheel in March when the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Racing GT3 Lexus crossed the finish line first in GTD Pro at Sebring. It was the British driver‘s 10th win and 24th podium in IMSA WeatherTech competition. Although Hawksworth grew up in the U.K., he is well known in the United States and is no stranger to the biggest and best events in American culture. Not only does he have 87 IMSA starts, he has one NASCAR Xfinity series start, one NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start and 49 IndyCar Series starts, including three Indy 500 races on his resume. Hawksworth is the elder statesman of the three Vasser Sullivan Racing teammates joining the Sebring at Sea trip, a group of teammates well known in IMSA for their fun-loving style.
Ben Barnicoat
While having a relative few starts in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with 26, British driver Barnicoat has an impressive winning percentage in the series having captured five wins, 15 podiums and seven pole positions in less than three full seasons. He and Jack Hawksworth teamed to win the GTD Pro series championship in 2023. He held the role of Factory Driver with McLaren for four years and enjoyed further successes on a global level while also playing an integral role in the development of the McLaren 720S GT3 racecar. Barnicoat also has six WEC starts and two podium finishes, including Sebring in 2022. Cruise ship fun is certainly possible from the young driver, as he told fans before the 2024 Twelve Hours of Sebring that if he and teammates Kyle Kirkwood and Jack Hawksworth won the race, they were headed straight to Green Park to party all night with Sebring fans. There is no word on whether the three drivers made it to the other side of the property after the race, but they can be excused if other obligations got in the way.
Kyle Kirkwood
Current full-time IndyCar driver and Florida native, Kyle Kirkwood, won the 2024 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring GTD Pro class driving with Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat in the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus. Driving for Andretti Autosport in IndyCar, Kirkwood has two IndyCar victories, both coming in 2023, the first in April at Long Beach and the second in August at Nashville. His 2024 Sebring victory was his second IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship win, with the first coming at Detroit in 2022. Like Barnicoat, and perhaps all drivers joining Sebring at Sea 2024, Kirkwood likes the idea of hanging out with racing‘s best fans to celebrate victories. His post-winning plans at Sebring were also to join Sebring fans in Green Park, but sponsor obligations and celebrating with his team and family members kept him in the paddock for hours after podium ceremonies ended.
Ricky Taylor
While the 2017 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring champion didn‘t capture this year‘s top prize at Sebring, his past accomplishments, his interest and willingness to meet with his fans, and the fact that his Wayne Taylor Racing teammates won the 2024 race, qualifies him to join guests again this year. A 31-time winner in IMSA‘s top series, Taylor is one of the sports most popular drivers in addition to being on its most accomplished. He is a two-time Rolex 24 At Daytona champion and has competed in six 24 Hours of Le Mans.
