As the World‘s Best Drive Sebring, the Raceway Helps Drive the Local Economy

The global appeal of Sebring International Raceway, and sports car racing in general, results in the iconic raceway hosting nearly 300 days of on-track activity each year.

While most on-track activities at Sebring are private tests or closed car club activities, tickets are sold to a wide variety of international sports car racing events.

Upcoming spectator events:

With all events, whether public or private, attended almost exclusively by out-of-town guests, the Highlands County business community is the primary benefactor of raceway activities given that most attendees visit local restaurants, stores and most notably hotels.

Sebring International Raceway has been owned and managed by IMSA Properties since 2012, which itself is a subsidiary of NASCAR.  Since the raceway was developed on the grounds of the former World War II Army Air Corps B-17 training base known as Hendricks Field, promoters have made constant improvements to the facility, with a significant uptick in advancements since IMSA Properties assumed ownership.  Most recently, efforts have been placed on expanding the reputation and comforts of the track while also maintaining the nostalgic throw-back feel to the old days of racing that both fans and competitors embrace.

Because of the long history of the 12-Hour Classic, the City of Sebring is well known around the world.  What was once called the 12 Hours of Sebring International Grand Prix of Endurance continues to provide benefits to racers, fans and the local economy that few other communities enjoy.
