The 5th Annual Hairpin Spin held at Four Points by Sheraton Chateau Elan' was once again a huge success for 2010. A record crowd and prizes exceeding $15,000 drew in people and sponsors from all over the country. Organizer Lisa Celentano and her hardworking committee ran a smooth lunch event to kick off the 58th Annual Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring sponsored by Fresh from Florida. Celebrity drivers from the Tequila Patron Team, Corvette Racing's Johnny O'Connell, Jaguar Racing and our 2010 Race Queen Brooke Blackman, made special appearances, spun the wheel and signed autograpshs. The Esparante' Restaurant provided a delcious buffet, and Alan Jay Automotive Network supplied not only the all day shuttle service, but also the gorgeous display cars including a rare Lamborghini Contache. Darlene Celentano, Owner of Sweet Street provided gourmet desserts and hand dipped chocolates, along with three Mimosa Fountains and award winning wine samples from Henscratch Farms. Our goal this year was to raise $20,000.00 for our chosen charities said organizer Lisa Celentano. The final tally was $19,000. Celentano mentioned this to Alan Wildstein, already a major sponsor, and was shocked as he wrote a check for the balance of $1000!! After expenses, each one of our charities: CHILDREN'S SERVICES FOUNDATION, HIGHLANDS ART LEAGUE, SEBRING HALL OF FAME, and HIGHLANDS COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY will each receive $3,500.00 "This event has grown tremendously over the years and I thank Sebring International Raceway for giving me the opportunity to work for a community I love. My committee this year was awesome and the generosity of this wonderful city and it's many volunteers makes it an honor to promote such an event. I look forward to 2011."
